Joyce began her career as a professional musician more than 30 years ago in Seattle, Washington, playing with many R&B, pop, rock, and jazz groups, touring the West Coast, Canada, Hawaii, and Japan.

In 1985 she moved to New Orleans, and performed in all the clubs and festivals with a wide variety of artists, such as Charles Neville, Charmaine Neville, Al Hirt, John Mooney, Pete Fountain, The Dixie Cups, Jon Cleary, Earl King, Snooks Eaglin, the Pfister Sisters, and Harry Connick, Sr. As an orchestra member, she accompanied many visiting national acts, including The Drifters, The Persuasions, and Chubby Checker.

A two year residence in New York (1989-1991) brought her work with popular ‘all girl’ Kit McClure Big Band, many local artists, and several theater productions with the NYU Theater. A chance meeting in a club led to an extensive tour in 1991 with pop star Jimmy Buffett, playing large arenas all over the USA.

After returning to New Orleans, she resumed work with many of the above artists. In 1993 she toured for 5 months in Italy, France, and Switzerland with Alligator Records bluesman Andy J. Forrest.

At the end of the tour, Joyce settled in Amsterdam, and has performed with many local and international artists, including the late Rosa King, Louisiana Radio, Clemens van de Ven, Madam Curie (Parade), Lamar Chase, Hans Dulfer, Ingram Washington, Terry Mann, Niki Buzz, Rob Taekema, 5 Times a Lady, and, of course, Girls Wanna Have Fun.
